Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal immunoglobulin (Ig) G1 antibody that binds to all isoforms and bioactive proteolytic fragments of human vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF), which is essential for both normal and tumor angiogenesis. It is approved for the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, advanced nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer, metastatic renal cell carcinoma, recurrent glioblastoma, advanced cervical cancer, and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
