EACC inhibits autophagic flux by blocking autophagosome-lysosome fusion. It does not have any effect on lysosomal properties or on endocytosis-mediated degradation of EGF receptor. It affects the translocation of SNAREs Stx17 and SNAP29 on autophagosomes without impeding the completion of autophagosomes.
